As I look at the calendar and my training plan, I am starting to get nervous. I have given myself twelve weeks to train for the Fat Pursuit - that should be plenty of time, right? Unfortunately, it is beginning to dawn on me that travel for work and for family is putting a big dent in my ability to be consistently on my bike. How do people work full time, travel for work, travel for family obligations, and have family visit and get quality training in at the same time? It's not a rhetorical question - if you know, please let me know because I need all the help I can get.
Shoulder season has arrived. I love fall - it’s the best time to grab every last mountain bike ride, a few hikes, and perhaps, another road trip. But it feels like winter has arrived early to Montana as we’ve already had two snowstorms. The snow doesn’t stick around for very long, but it has me wondering, how many more rides on dirt will I have before winter takes over? Can we take a road trip to Glacier before winter shuts it down?
This weekend Brandon and I were planning to head down to Island Park for the Fun Pursuit, but winter arrived this weekend, and the organizers canceled the event. So when we woke up this morning to 2 inches of snow in the front yard, we put on hiking boots and headed down up to Hyalite Canyon with Siena for a walk in the woods.
